Indignation by Philip Roth

Indignation by Philip Roth

One of the funniest of Roth’s novels. This kid, Marcus, is such a schmuck, that the reader can be in no doubt where to stand, looking on at each car crash after car crash. That the kid is right, and we think he’s right, and we know he must be right, is no excuse. He gets what he deserves. Such is life: even if you’re right, especially if you’re right, you get your comeuppance. Funny Roth!
